01Privacy at a glance

Mature Dating is a dating app for people aged 18 and over, and your trust is the whole thing. This policy covers the Mature Dating apps for iPhone and Android. Here's the short version; the full details are right below.

02What we collect

We only collect what we need to run Mature Dating:

• Account: the basics to set up your account, such as your name, date of birth, gender and email or Apple ID.
• Profile: your photos, bio and anything else you choose to add. Optional details can always be skipped.
• Content & activity: what you share, such as messages, photos, voice notes and stories, and how you use the app, such as likes, matches, calls, live streams, blocks and reports.
• Location: your precise location if you allow it; otherwise the country your phone is set to.
• Verification & safety: verification selfies and the results of our safety checks.
• Device: device and app information, such as device ID, model, IP address and crash reports.
• Purchases & support: your subscription status and any messages you send us. Apple and Google handle payments, so we never see your card details.

We never ask about your religion, caste, ethnicity, income or politics.

03Photos, verification & safety checks

Your verification selfie

Your verification selfie is used only to confirm you're a real person and that you match your profile photos. It isn't shown on your profile; only our team reviews it. We don't use it to build a biometric profile or to identify you anywhere else, and once your check is done you can ask us to delete it.

Automatic photo checks

Every photo you upload, including your selfie, is checked automatically by Amazon Rekognition, a service of Amazon Web Services. It looks for nudity and other unsafe content, whether the photo shows a face and roughly how old that person looks (to keep out photos of children), text in the photo such as phone numbers, and whether the face resembles a well-known public figure. These checks take temporary measurements of the face in the photo. We keep only the outcome, for example that a photo was refused and why, and never a face template. A photo that resembles a public figure is flagged for our team to look at rather than refused automatically.

Messages and profile text are also checked automatically for things like abusive words and phone numbers.

Checks on your own phone

If you've turned on Sensitive Content Warning on your iPhone, photos and live video sent to you may be checked by Apple's on-device feature. That happens on your phone, and nothing about it is sent to us.

A person, when it matters

If an automatic check refuses your photo or affects your account, email us and a person will review it.

Calls and live streams

Calls connect directly between the two phones, or through our own relay server when a direct connection isn't possible. Live streams run through our own video server. We don't record calls or live streams. Anyone watching a live stream can see and hear it and read its comments.

04Why we use it

We use your information to:

• Run the app: show profiles, work out distance, suggest people, power likes, matches, chat, calls and live streams, send notifications, and handle purchases and support (the service you signed up for).
• Keep everyone safe: verify accounts, check photos and messages, review reports, stop banned members from coming back, and enforce our rules (our legitimate interest in a safe community).
• With your permission: precise location, camera, microphone and notifications. You can switch any of them off in your phone's settings at any time.
• When the law requires it: to comply, defend legal claims, or protect someone's safety.

05Who can see you

Other members can see your profile: your first name, age, photos, bio and the details you add, your town and how far away you are, and whether you're verified. They may also see when you were last active, that you visited their profile, and your stories, plans and live streams. The people you chat with see what you send them.

Your exact location, email address, date of birth and Passport city are never shown to other members. You can hide your profile at any time in Settings.

A dating profile can reveal sensitive things, like who you're interested in. What you add is entirely your choice, and you can change or remove it whenever you like.

06Who we share it with

We don't sell your data, and we don't use it for advertising. We share it only with:

• Other members: the profile and messages described above.
• Trusted providers who help us run the app, such as hosting and storage, photo safety checks, analytics and crash reports, calls, maps, email delivery, and sign-in, payments and notifications through Apple and Google. They may use your data only to provide their service to us, under strict confidentiality and security terms.
• Authorities: only when the law requires it or to keep people safe.
• A future owner: if Mature Dating is ever sold or reorganised, under confidentiality.

Where your data is stored

Your data is stored mainly in India, and some of our providers process it in other countries, so it may be handled outside the country you live in. Where the law requires, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers, such as our providers' data protection terms.

07Your rights & choices

Wherever you live, you can:

• see and correct your profile in the app at any time;
• delete your account in the app, in Settings › Delete account;
• ask us for a copy of your data, or to delete anything that's left;
• switch off location, camera, microphone, photos or notifications in your phone's settings;
• object to or limit certain uses, and withdraw your consent.

In the EU and UK you can also complain to your local data protection authority. In US states with privacy laws, such as California, you can also appeal our decision and use an authorised agent, and we won't treat you differently for using your rights.

08How long we keep it & keeping it safe

We keep your data only as long as we need it to run the app, keep members safe and meet our legal duties.

• Deleting your account removes your profile, photos, messages, matches, likes and notes from Mature Dating straight away.
• We keep a small record of deleted accounts, such as the email or Apple ID, device ID and any ban, so that banned members can't simply sign up again.
• Photos and chats from older versions of the app may not be removed automatically. Email us and we'll delete them.
• We keep other limited, restricted records only where the law, a safety investigation or a legal claim requires it.

We protect your data with encrypted connections, encrypted photo storage and restricted access, though no online service can promise perfect security. If a breach ever affects you, we'll tell you, and the regulator where the law requires.

09Age & child safety

Mature Dating is strictly for people aged 18 and over. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse or exploitation. We don't knowingly allow anyone under 18, our automatic checks refuse photos that show children, and we remove and report violations to the authorities.

If you think a member is under 18, or you see anything that harms a child, report it in the app or email us right away at contact.dndapps@gmail.com.

10Changes, law & contact

Mature Dating is run by D and D APPS, the data controller responsible for your information. This policy is governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA. If a translation of this policy differs from this English version, the English version applies.
